That’s very good to hear.

I have a couple sets on reserve (tire hoarder… me? ) for when these ‘best clinchers I’ve ever ridden’ tires finally wear through.

I guess it depends on how they actually measure.

This is what I will be waiting for before dropping $150+ on a new set of tires. Gravelkings have always treated me well. But always felt sluggish. I swapped out my 40c GKSS for Terra Speeds. I have been on them for the past 2 seasons with zero issues. About to pick up a 45c to put on the front.

I’m definitely interested in trying them for the summer when the fenders come off the gravel bike. The old casings were too fragile for me.

I recently picked up a bike that is wearing these tires. Owner knew what he was doing and the build was dialed. He told me the tires were a Japanese market only tire. They measure 30.2mm on the rims they're on and the clearance is as tight as anyone would tolerate. I'm looking forward to putting miles on them.

Shortest. Article. Ever. LOL

Everyone knows the Panaracer Gravelking tire. Since it first launched in 2014, it’s been a crowd favorite for gravel riding and racing. The Japanese tire manufacturer just announced X1, the best Gravelking yet. Read on for more…

The X1 was designed to offer the least rolling resistance with the most traction where you need it: corners. It achieves this by having a directional tread in the center and aggressive knobs on the sides. This is the most aggressive tread design in the Gravelking lineup, providing unmatched performance across various gravel conditions. Tubeless Ready up to 60 PSI.

Ideal for gravel, dirt, and rough payment.

Specs:

Sizes: 700 x 35 mm, 700 x 40 mm, 700 x 45 mm
Available in Black Tread and Black or Brown Sidewall
Folding (Aramid) Bead
Available in 700C and a variety of widths
TLR and Hookless Compatible
See more at Panaracer.

I guess thats a description...but a quick glance at the new tire tread and the other GK treads offers the same thing in 2 seconds of looking.
Radavist coming in with the hard hitting journalism right there!**

I think the statement from the marketing copy is also incorrect:
This is the most aggressive tread design in the Gravelking lineup, providing unmatched performance across various gravel conditions
I'm pretty sure the Gravelking EXT (EXTREMES) which I have on my CX bike qualify as a more aggressive tread (or at least more open and widely spaced knobs). They also roll and corner pretty well on pavement.

Looked over the whole revamp and it sure looks like the new R line is meant to compete with the tires they’ve been making on contract for Rene Herse.
