Velocity Quill Rims

These are now apparently in stock. Anyone have some yet?

I find interesting that they were said to be 415g but now everywhere I look they are 465g. I thought 415 was way too light, rims at that weight are not reliable. Looks like they beefed them up

I have a buddy in San Diego that cracked a gen1 quill. Velocity replaced it under warranty. He liked them other than that fact.

hopefully these "v2" are better, should be if they weight that much more. I thought it was too good to be true, a much stronger rim for 35g less. Can't have everything I guess.

maybe the open pros...

If you do the 'custom wheel build' option on prowheelbuilder.com, you can see the Boyd Alamont Lite is 435g. I always use their page to see approximate weight. Seems like a fairly stout rim at that weight too. Problem is they are only approved to sell those rims in wheelsets they build.. Maybe Ergott could set you up with some if you choose that path?

yeah, I don't know if I care about weight that much at this point tbh. Just thought it was interesting that the thing people were excited about and that was suppose to be what was awesome about the rims (the logo is a feather), is now not.

I do want to build a new wheelset, might wait for the open pros.
