This frame was actually an experiment in my earlier builds. It was mainly built out of S3 tubing. Larry called me up one day and just said, "Let's give it a try and just see what happens.", so we did and it turned out very nice and light and it saw a ton of racing. Then he took it out on the mountain bike trails behind his house and took a pretty hard hit and put a crease in the down tube right behind the head tube fillet, but he continued on riding it for like 6 months just like that. Then one day in the middle of a race he crashed really hard and actually ripped the S3 down tube in half. Larry, who is not one to give up, picked the bike up and raced the rest of the race and somehow it didn't fold up completely, maybe because of the tear-drop head tube or probably just by luck. Anyway, I eventually cut the down tube out of it and replaced it with an OX Platinum tube that has a little more meat on it. This bike was sub 17 pounds before the repair and now its right at 17 lbs. This is a favorite of mine because it has just been through so much and he's still racing it as you can see in the photo. This photo was taken just last week in Little Rock I believe. Larry Yancey is one hardcore racer and I'm glad to have him on one of my bikes. Thanks for the questions.

Dimitri is getting started on a wide-clearance road racing frame with couplers for me and I'm really excited so I figured I would bump his work back to the top!

Lol. John, its the only saddle that I've sat on in the last 24 years. I have eleven of them in various colors to hopefully last me for the rest of my life.

Smart man! I'll be in Arkansas for the BDB in Sept. I should stop in and say hello.

Thanks William. They both turned out nicely, but the oysters needed to be a little crispier. The MEECH was plenty crisp. Have a good weekend.
