Giro Empire ACC shoe sizing?

Does anyone have any advice on how giro empire acc shoe sizing runs?

Looking to buy a pair online (memorial weekend sale) and they are not available locally to try on.

I currently wear a 46 in Sidi road shoes.
My actual foot size is 11.5 according to the local running shop as measured with the silver metal foot sizer; 11.5 is the size i wear for running shoes and other casual footwear.

Thinking a 46 would be ok, some reviews say go up half size?

Also any input on giro empire shoes is welcomed!

Thanks,
Jon

I wear the same Giro as Sidi. That said, I have a weird foot and size up a half size to get the narrow Sidi to fit good. Never liked Sidi. Giro fits perfect.

I take size 11 in most shoes...

just bought a pair of Giro Empires in size 45, they seem to fit fine.

thinking a 46 would work for you.

I wear 44 in northwave and fizik. i wear a 44.5 in lake and giro. take this for what you will, but i find them a touch smaller in the toe box than some. i have the factors though, not the empires

I went 43.5 Sidi's with superfeet insoles. Probably could have done 43 with the regular ones.

43.5 Giro Empire is just a smidge tight in the toe box so I've returned them for 44's.

But then again my toes are basically fingers...

I have heard of people sizing up 1/2 size or using the same size as Siri.
My foot is narrow and I think Giro nailed it with the lace system (to dial in exact fit) and style. They are not crazy expensive, durable and I like the aesthetic. My only issue is that no one seems to have replacement heel pads in stock so they typically take a while to order. Maybe order two sized shoes and return the one that does not fit as well?

I went from Sidi to Specialized to Giro for shoes.

The sizing was 46.5 Sidi --> 46.0 Spec --> 46.5 Giro.

I liked them all - just trying Giro for a change and loving them so far.

Three pair of shoes I use on the road, all size 42, Sidi Ergo 2s, Giro Factors and Giro Privateers.

The Sidi's are the tightest, next the Privateers and then the Factors.

The Giro Factors most defiantly have a larger toe box and greater internal volume then the Sidi Ergo 2s.

Mr. douglas has strange feet or wears odd socks with his Sidis, because his sizing make no sense to me.

I think you're fine with 46.0...

I wear size 12 street shoes and wore 46.5 Empire ACCs comfortably. By raw and unscientific extrapolation, I figure 11.5 transfers to 46.0 nicely.

with the empire it seems like it depends on where your foot has the most volume. I am an 11 in most shoes, wore 44.5 sidis (not mega) and sized up to 45 in the empire because my feet are on the wider side (especially across the ball of my foot).

a friend wears the same size in sidis and empires, but his foot is more "tall" than wide. the laces seem to allow more vertical space than horizontal.

YMMV though! mine are also empire SLXs and not ACCs for what it's worth.

11 1/4 shoe size. 45.5 too small 46.5 too big 46 was just right.
