Vote's coming in, and Leave is stronger than I thought it would be.

This may mean something, but I'm not sure:

If that after-hours nosedive continues or accelerates I think it will be a sign that the UK's out.

Ah, it's way too early to tell yet.

The Brits ain't leaving. This is 2016 and not 1588; they know which side their bread's buttered on. :-)

Brexit and groupset prices

They're calling it as a victory for #BREXIT with close to 4 point lead now... GBP down almost 10%

Before I saw this started looking for group sets. The pound is lowest level in years.

Well, it looks like Scotland and northern Ireland voted to remain while Wales and Merry Old voted to leave! Go figure. I was kidding, earlier, about California's becoming the worlds 5th largest economy in short order if the Brexit actually took place. That might now come to fruition!

Gotta love the British. It seems that they've had enough of the world and that they now seek to retract themselves into that big, cozy snail's shell of an island. I think it's a bit unfair, though. After all, during the hundreds of years of Colonialism they sailed the world's oceans, getting bloody well into everybody's face; and once the birds came home to roost they decided that they didn't like it so much.

This result does not bode well for them.

I was in the UK when Obama flew over and pushed hard against Brexit and said the UK would go to the "back of the queue" for trade talks if Brexit occurred. People in the UK did not seem to appreciate the US telling them what to do.

He wasn't telling them what to do, he was telling what would likely happen if they voted Leave.

Now they'll find out first hand, and probably conclude that what he told them was correct.

I lived and worked in the UK (Surrey) for a few years in the mid-1990s, and I gotta say that this is great news in the medium- and long-term. I doubt that the European experiment has more than a generation or maybe two before total collapse and implosion, and forging a more independent identity is smart for the UK people.
