Predicting doom & gloom if the UK splits is about like Y2K, where excessive and unfounded fear was erroneously promulgated about.

Immigration "fears" are nothing to do with colour - it's about culture and idealogies that do not mix well.
black British people have contributed a huge amount over the years to Britain culturally and in many other ways. So have Indians and Pakistanis . This is part of British culture like it or not: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YvtSONlfaKY |

I hope we stay but I think we're screwed no matter how the vote goes. If we leave and the economy goes south, Boris Johnson will apologise. Great when I need to pay my bills I'm sure apologies will cover them. When the UK is bankrupt it will give Donald Trump somewhere to buy and export all the Mexicans

Sad part is any trade agreement UK would enter into with the EU -- assuming an exit -- would probably require that the Brits make those free labor markets and providing that access a condition for any agreement. So even leaving may not bring about the isolationist utopia some crave. Can always close the Chunnel I guess.
But hey, we've got a decent chunk of the American populace who thinks a third-rate carnival barker should be in charge of the world's largest nuclear arsenal. So not like we have the ability to throw stones out of our glass house or anything... |

Sad fact is that if we do vote to leave we'll have nobody to blame but ourselves.
I've made sure that I fly back home (currently in Colorado) in time to vote, and I'll be voting as a British person who lives in one of Europe's largest and most vibrant cities - London. |

I really bristle at the use of the term "populism" for what is going on in the US. That term has a history. One that includes the Trade Union Movement, labor parties, a graduated income tax...etc. Not guns, isolationism, bigotry and the sweet baby Jeebus.
