Shimano road shoes

Anyone have any opinions or experience with the R321's vs the RC7's?
Both available in wide, but none local to me. going to buy either or maybe both on line.

If you have wide feet and 200+ bucks to spend I would recommend you the lake cx237x (x=wide). I have tried in store shimano and other shoes in the 200 bucks range and none feel even close to the cx237... wide and like a globe, to the point that I can't even imagine how the 402's would feel.

The cx175 feels great aswell. The other advantage of lake, they have the lenght and the wide of the shoe in the size tables, it is accurate IMO.

I have/had the shimano r300 (48 wide) and they fit until the heel pad broke off. I got a pair of Lake 48 tri shoes (regular width) and they are roomier than the shimano.

I presently own and ride the Shimano 321 in a regular width size 43. They are wide enough for my feet. I have a Morton's Neuroma so I need a wide shoe so there is no side pressure on my feet to pinch the nerves. I tried a pair in the wide and they were way to wide for my feet. Everyone's feet are different, but this was my experience. I really like these shoes, but will give the RC9 a try just to see how I like the Boa's. Good luck!

I have the RC7. One thing that is hard for me on Shimano is that the wide version are only in full size increments so I went with the larger of the range. They are too big.

The RC7 boa is great. Even though the shoe is too big the boa and shape make it such that I do not get any heal slip. Therefore, being to big allows thick socks for cool weather and room for my toes and width at the for foot.

That bad with the RC7 is that the finish appears to be “printed” on and scuffs off readily. For this reason these new shoes are already looking well worn.

I have the RC7 and love them. Great fit and ventilation.

Oh, I had them customized by a local artist.

Not the exact models you're looking for comparisons for but the same generations.

Rode the R320s for years which fits my wide foot really well. I got the RP9s in the same size and found they're significantly narrower.

I just got a pair of xc7. Essentially the mtb version of the rc7. I too wear wide
Really like them so far..... with limited time on them

I'm currently in 321's in a 43 wide and would like to move to the RC9's. Have y'all found that the length is the same between the 320/321's and the RC9?

I found the R321 shoes to be high volume- If that works for you they could be a good match.

i have the 321's in wide, they are the nicest shoe i've owned. widest also. if you can find a pair in wide on closeout, they will be a score. i've looked to find a backup/travel pair, but can't find my size online in wide. for my 321's i paid full tilt retail at my lbs by the way, and it was still worth it.

still get occasional numb toes, so i've been using arch inserts lately (had a thread here where forum members very helpful on suggestions).

I have neuromas in my feet as well so shoe fit really matters. On top of that my feet are long, size 48, and narrow. The only shoes that really seem to fit are Shimano. My last pair was the R315 which have served me well but lately are feeling tight in the toes. I bought a pair of RP9s at a really good price as the new BOA version is due soon. They seem to fit comfortably and have a nice amount of space for my toes. I tried a pair of RC7s, also in 48, and they were cramped in the toes. So, even with the same brand you really have to try them on.
