Why all the love for Look 585 bikes?

There seems to be a lot of love for Look 585 bikes on this and other forums. I don't understand what makes them special. I own one and I am not bitten by the love bug. I like the bike but it isn't special to me. Any Look 585 owners out there that feel the love?

I loved the 585 Ultra that I had, but it didn't always love me back so I traded it off. It is a well designed and built bike with a great pedigree, but the one I had was for a younger, more flexible person (slammed stem, and finding a fork was too much of a hassle). It did all the things a well heeled race bike should do, if I only knew how to do them

Just add pedals. It'll go much faster then.

Still my fave of the various color schemes--I spent an inordinate amount of time looking for one--unsuccessfully.

For me, a clyde viejo, my Ultra checks all the boxes for a carbon frame- lugged, well built, quick but not twitchy, stiff but comfy and fits 28c clinchers with room to spare...Whats not to like?

My 585 Ultra XXL ticks all the boxes for me. Quick but not nervous, stiff but comfy. Its just a good balance of all I want in a bike. Alas, I don;t ride on the road anymore and it gets close to no use.

When I see them in photos I always think they suffer from Too Many Logos syndrome. But I just saw a 585 on a ride last weekend, and I gotta admit it looked really nice.

Lugged carbon!

I had a 555 with the nicer full carbon 585 fork that was my favorite for a long long time. 585 Ultra was "too stiff" for me, not pedal-flex but ride quality. In my humble opinion...

I have a 585 Optimum. It's like a 585/Roubaix hybrid. Fit is really good for me with the slighter taller HT. I've also had a 585 Origin, not the Ultra - thought the Origin was plenty stiff for my 180#.

The 585 is just a really nice riding bike. Not bone-rattling stiff, not too twitchy, does what you ask it to do.

If you're not liking yours, I'd suggest playing around with wheels and tires a bit. If still no love, I'm sure you could find a buyer pretty quick. Yours looks like an XL or XXL - those sizes always seem to be in demand.

Dang

I passed on an orange one years ago and it may be the only bike I have ever not purchased that haunts me. Beautiful!

I've got one that I should sell. They're great bikes for all the reasons people say. And it was a fun experiment. But they're not especially kind to my old-man back.
