Since it's half paved with the rest a mix of mixed up dirt/sand/clay roads, it sounds like a CX bike would be ideal. Maybe like 35-40mm tires, like Clement LASs or MSOs?

This from someone in NH looking out at the fresh 6" of snow; I'm thinking of my skate skis and have never ridden in GA, so grain of salt... Would be great to get down there for a ride like that!

I'm putting up my wax bench tonite. We rcvd a foot of snow yesterday and look to be on my skis tomorrow

Mid February in Macon means 50/50 chance of 80 and sunny or 30 and icy.
