I would go with bike number one, but with a short reach to the brake levers.
Just an old man arthritic thang.
I like your thinking.
Bring a piece of France back with you.

And any cycling advertisement depicting a bike descent I can relate to.
That was the only way I could go fast when my parents bought me an AMF over sized frame to replace my slightly small Schwinn.
I still have an affection for a slightly undersized frame.

Pink Mercier, Poulidor's bike, would be a good choice.

The folding orange bike would certainly be my top choice. In the past, I've brought home bicycles from overseas trips, and many of them were designed to fold for easier and cheaper transport. Since then, I've grown really fond of these portable bikes.

I'd go with the folder. The orange color is an unexpected bonus.

Very cool stairway, but how in the world do you take a bike upstairs, if for some reason you had to?

I go to Amsterdam regularly now for work and always rent a bike to get around. The super swept-back bars are absolutely f-ing terrifying to ride with.

The townie I really want is a Van Moof. Those are slick.

That is a beautiful machine, and I am sure that will ride to match its appearance.
