I believe 2005-2014 or so. There might have been some small tweaks from 2010 to 2011 but I'm not sure. I'm assuming the 110k number that keeps getting thrown around is cars from 2005-2010.

I believe those are under an older less stringent emission standard.

This sheds some light into how many TDI's were sold since 2007. The cars sold in 2009-10 make up near the total of the cars VW may have to buy back.

No. They have a different motor.

If there is no timely solution for the 2009-2014 cars, they may have to buy them all back.

A buy back??

I wonder what they'll give me for my year old 2014 with 12k miles on it? Somehow, I don't expect to get a great offer. And then i'll have to go car shopping again. Unfortunately, I still don't see anything that performs like my TDI wagon.

I talked to my Audi dealer today (I don't have a TDI) and he said Audi will be buying back all the A3s with the TDI engine...

Isn't quite the same as a 'buy back', IMHO. If there is a buy back, I'm guessing something approaching(or exceeding) high KBB before the time of the fan-····e hitting. Not thrilled with that since my 2013 is paid for. Not keen on spending more $ on a new car. BUT I'd trade it straight for a 2013 gas JSW of similar mileage and condition(like perfect)..WITH a 3 year warranty added. Gotta be red tho..

If I'm required to sell my car, the only way I'm doing it is if they give me what I'd get for a lemon law buyback. Full purchase price.

Back in 2008 Toyota bought back my 2000 Tacoma due to frame rot. Quite a few Tacomas in the NE were bought back, seems as though a manufacturing error made the frames susceptible to rust. They gave me 125% of KBB retail. so for a 2000 Tacoma 4x4 with 189K miles I got a check for $12500. I paid $20K for it in 2000. I bought a 2009 Tacoma and Toyota kicked in another $1k and 0% financing for 3 years.

I'd rather keep my '11 Golf TDi assuming the "fix" isn't major surgery but if its a buyback I hope they will be as nice as Toyota was. I'm thinking GTI.

And if you're required to do so and they don't give you full purchase price, what will you do then?

That said, I live in pennsylvania, so the odds of me being required to sell my car are REALLY low.

I was just getting used to not having any car payments but if VW hands me a big enough check I'll take it. My wife has always wanted a 3 series so maybe she'll get her wish.
