That is in the Holly Shelter Game Lands. Just north of Wilmington.
Not many route choices in the Outer Banks themselves.

Bit of a lurker here, but I thought this would be a good chance to post up the CX bike which has turned into a gravel/ do it all bike. Used it exclusively on the road for the past few years but figured it would make a good base for my first season CX.

Frame is a Traitor Exile. Their road frame from a couple years ago. Enough clearance for a 33c PDX up front and a 30c Michelin mud in the rear. Mishmash of Red and Force drivetrain. She's been a workhorse for years and will continue to be.

I've included a pic of the bike in go fast pure road mode as well for reference.

Noice, noice! The way you're taking advantage of the versatility that the basic set-up holds -- just fantastic. N=1!

(I mean, maybe you've got twelve bikes, I dunno. I just like the chameleon thing. The split-personality thing. The adapt-to-whatever thing.)

Definitely an n=1 situation. I have one other bike, a "fancy" carbon Ridley for more spirited club road rides and such, but this one still gets a lot of love, on and off the pavement. Just love it's versatility.

I still prefer the way this one handles, something about the longer wheelbase and chainstays.

This was originally a Bamboosero city bike. I had the FSA Metropolis post, bars and stem on it with a Gates belt drive but got bored of the leisurely ride.
Had the Powershift levers lying around so I decided to put them to use. The Yokozuma housing for the brakes was a cheap yet effective upgrade. Cobra cable guides worked out well.
Mavic Speedcity wheels have held up so far.
Not liking the RaceFace Evolve triple crank as a single too much. Might replace it with an actual single speed with a better chain line and tighter Q factor. This one requires three 2.5mm BB spacers.

Not a featherweight at 24.5 lbs but still a fun ride.
