Bill's bike had a great paint job, but I didn't see it on that article..

I can’t understand the negativity some post about these rides. Looks like a blast to me!

Yes, it was stunning. And the guy that commented on the paint was me, I heard the reply about Bill riding the bike he built 30 years ago.

Very cool story about the bike from Gordy Sheilds too. I raced in San Diego in my 20's, and had a couple bikes painted by Joe Bell. Gordy Sheilds was a fixture at all the rides and races, and one of those guys that I wished I would be like when I got old...like I am now.

Gordy's annual memorial ride was Sunday.
