Indiana U Little 500 Live Streaming

Certainly one of the greatest amateur cycling events in the country. The real thing that the movie Breaking Away was taken from:

My youngest daughter is at IU. The Little500 is a big deal there.

I'll be there in 10 minutes; rode the race for three years and am mechanic for the women's race for the last three years.

I'm supposed to be working and ....

Nope. This is awesome. Thank you for posting this awesomeness. I may force my son to watch breaking away with me. Again. My wife will roll her eyes and tolerate us.

SAE's crash blew the race wide open. They had to put their strong rider, Krahulik on the bike to chase back on. The strongest teams, Cutters, Black Key Bulls and Gray Goat took off, blowing the lead group into pieces. Black Key Bulls didn't want a sprint finish since they didn't have strongest sprinter. They ITT'd it to the end, and victory. No sprint. Coach said they were riding so hard they were vomiting.

I don't know if it got coverage, but apparently a coach got run into and knocked out around 130-140?

There was a mysterious yellow flag that came out around then. From the telecast, we could see emergency personnel with a stretcher taking someone away from the pits. However, it didn't seem as though there'd been a crash, so if was hard to follow what happened. Must've been this.

The replay of the crash on lap one was kind of brutal. Guy runs into downed rider, then goes over bars, landing on shoulder. He couldn't get up. Pretty sure collarbone went snap.
