Does that mean we gonna get a nice little upgrade bump for the 105 and dare i say, the Tiagra series?

I hope not because I literally just bought a Tiagra equipped bike! 4700 only came out last year anyway didn't it? Probably be a while yet.

I think they really had a nice thing in 9000 and 6800 - a modern group that looks good on a wide variety of bikes. The new crank style looks real bad. I'll live with my first gen 11 speed Shimano stuff.

Each Shimano group is usually updated a year after the tier above it. We'll probably see new 105 in 2018 and new Tiagra in 2019. Tiagra was just redone!

were those components smuggled out of the factory or something in that chivas box?

if not, what's up with the vacuum sealed box?

I think this is a bit like a singles bar. Something that is too unattractive when you are sober may look OK after you drink a lot of Chivas. Those cranks would require at least two bottles to look good to me.

I like the new crankset, looks more like the campy 4 arm crankset which I also like. I like this better than 6800 but liked 9000 DA over the new stuff.
