i dont

tend to be quite literal, calling them by model name, genre of bike or by maker.

Im like that with everything i own, cars and guitars would be other realms we could make parallels to.

it is fun though, but could never get into the habit of

Always.

Partially because I think its weird on Strava to show where you ride and have a description of some amazing $8,000 bike I'm riding. Also because it's fun and the kind of relationships I have with my bike are important and individualized to me. They're all custom, after all.

Andy is my daily workhorse. Named after a Leatherface song that changed my life.

Marie is my Pegoretti. That bike is commemorative ode to my late mother who died of cancer. It's got the Catch paint with orange in it, the color for kidney cancer. My mother's middle name was Marie.

My cross/gravel bike is Betty, after Betty Friedan. Feminist and social critic. My bike was designed and built by a woman.

No I don't name my bikes, and reserve the right to gently poke fun at those that do .

I have never considered naming by bicycles; however I have named my chestnuts for as long as I can remember: left and right.
