Did you see the price? $550 for the limited edition, $350 for the regular.

Lol.

I don't understand how turning wouldn't mess with your brake. Am I missing something?

Your fork is turning too!

I think a better approach is a fork mounted hanger.

Ha! Right, duh. For some reason I wasn't visualizing it since the fork wasn't in the picture.

Assuming you mean at the crown. Or at least a hole for mounting one there.

you stem is always aligned with your fork, where the brake is mounted..... so when you turn everything turns together.

cool, but i don't see how it would help with chatter/shudder.
could definitely help with cable/housing routing if you 'slam that stem' or have a short headtube.

i thought the cure for that (barring a swap to stiffer fork/steerer) has generally been to have the lower housing stop as close to the yoke as possible - that's why companies started making fork crown-mount stops...
see the Specialized Crux, Tektro makes one aftermarket if your fork is drilled. Ruckus Components modifies carbon forks to integrate a stop - i've seen this firsthand on a couple forks locally, very cool.

Why not just have a roller, a la vintage Salsa stems?

I worked on plenty of bikes with stems like this back in the late 80's early 90's that routed the brake cable through the stem one way or another. The annoying problem with this on a quill stem is that anytime you move the stem you have the additional job of re-adjusting the brakes as well. Not sure this is a huge jump forward technologically, but hey, different strokes for different folks I suppose...

I have this setup on my SV cross bike and have had zero issues. It just looks clean.

Seems 'reasonable' to me, given a stock Enve stem is already $265. You are paying up for a limited production run plus a pretty 'vagen paint job. Not for me, but I'm surprised it doesn't cost more.

P.S. I hate how stem spacers stick out over the stem bore on Enve stems. Looks mushroom-y

That assumes $265 for the stock ENVE stem is reasonable. Which it isn't IMO

still think those stems are ugly/pretty. Maybe i just like all things enve. I wonder how they paint those? I'm afraid to take the clear off some small carbon bits.
