Dave
Sounds like the perfect time to revive the rained out DFW Paceline Ride. Count me in. We might even have the Paceline caps by then.

We can ride around Joe Pool Lake. Not far from Hurst. Plenty of decent roads south of the metromess.

Could also meet at White Rock Lake and do the Dallas Trails route. We'll try and keep tiretrax from flatting in downtown Dallas this time.

I'm sure that a few of us from Austin wouldn't mind making the drive up for a ride with Dave and the DFW crew. To me, Dave is kinda the Neil Young of framebuilding. It would be great to ride with the legend.

JPL sounds great!

Dave, any chance you'll be here 10/4? This would be a great ride to do: http://www.paluxypedal.com/ - very nice north Hill Country course. I met Mike748 one year and rode with him for a while.

I tried to organize a separate DFW Paceline ride a few years ago on this route, but it didn't pan out - I rode it with a few friends on a beautiful early December day with support provide by my family - met us at site of 3 rest stops.

It sounds like we have quorum for a group ride. I like it.

Once I set dates and confirm them with my parents I float them here and the locals can set it up and tell me where to be and then there will be riding and eating and drinking.

Thanks so much all - I really forward to the trip now!

Me too!

"Dave-pal, would you sign an autograph on my... ahem... you-know-where....?"

Your OP may be innocent enough, but you have a cult-like following, whether you know it or not.

I see how this works.

tiretrax, texbike, shortsocks and I try and get a DFW ride together in the spring and it falls apart like toilet paper in a swimming pool. Throw a couple of world renowned framebuilders into the mix and EVERYBODY wants to come ride in DFW all the sudden

Yeah and relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it.

William

PS: Sounds like fun, have a blast

Planning this shindig

All,

After PM-ing Dave, I am more than happy to head this up. When he gives me dates, I'll set up some dates to choose from in the Rides section and see who can make it when.

I am new to the area, but live essentially in Hurst and have been getting out with groups 2-3 times per week since getting here.

My first pick for a ride location would be the Flowermound, Roanoke, Argyle area. Don't know if you've been out that direction, but some beautiful horse country with not a lot of traffic. It's my favorite place to ride.

Follow up the ride with a lunch or dinner (and beers) at Hard Eights BBQ in Roanoke.

Thoughts????
