Loved the SRAM etap infomercial during today's coverage - complete with Shimano Dura Ace direct mount brakes!

Nice to see Cav on the top step again. The women's race was fantastic.

I was impressed that a guy from team novo Nordisk where they all have diabetes finished 14th overall (Javier Megias). Watching it yesterday he was right in the final bunch sprint and it really hammered home how thin the line between the very, very top and the rest of the riders is.

Watching it also made me want to go riding in California. It looked beautiful.

Any body else forget to switch DVR channels for today's stage? I was pretty bummed when I got home and saw it didn't record. Looks like there is a stage 8 recap or something on late tonight but not the full coverage.

Just back from a weekend riding in Central Cali. Fun discussing the good (And bad) of having stage 4 start in Morro Bay with the locals while I got a haircut.

Rode Prefumo Canyon, See Canyon, Turri Road...some of the more well-known local roads. All amazing. The riding on the Central Coast is the best. My most favorite place in the world.

Ugh! Gotta get up there!

I just did the 33 mile leg of the San Diego Century ride with my wife and we did a circle from Encenitas to San Marcos to Escondido to Rancho Santa Fe back to Encinitas and DAMN! This county has some beautiful spots!

Not to mention the South Coast Highway!

This is what one rider thought of all the long transfers this year, courtesy the first year being run by the Amaury Sports Organization.

Yeah, stopped by to chat with a bud at Stage 8 (who is head mechanic for one of the squads) and he echoed the same frustration with the organizers logistic plan this year- too much driving time from stage to stage.

Some Stage 8 pics posted in my FB album
