Stolen bikes -- Please help

Instead of having multiply sticky's about stolen bikes, I wanted to consolidate these into one discussion. Feel free to add to this list as necessary, but let's avoid any actual discussion in here and save that for the specific stolen bike(s). Also, please let us know when the link can be removed.

Thanks.

***STOLEN BIKES!*** We regret to announce that the Road Bike Action office in Santa Clarita, California, was subject to theft on the evening of Thursday, February 27. Two bikes were stolen: a Specialized Turbo electric bike and a Cipollini RB1000 (more details below). Please share this post, and spread the word to your local bike shops, particularly in the Southern California area. Both bikes are quite rare, so they should be easy to spot when they turn up. If you have any information, please email letters@roadbikeaction.com or call (661) 295-1910.

1) Specialized Turbo Electric Bike - red with black accents, size large, disc brakes
2) Cipollini RB 1000 - size Large/56, carbon fiber, black with white logos, Campagnolo Record EPS electronic drivetrain, Campagnolo Shamal wheels, Deda handlebar and stem, Prologo

Be on the lookout in the NE...

STOLEN BIKE ALERT! Help Emma track down her Trek Madone (looks just like the one pictured below), stolen from her Providence apartment in a break-in. If you seek this bike, throw a lock on it and call her (603-801-0342; she gave permission to share her number). Bike thieves are dirtbags of the first order, let's track this one down. Share and forward...

Stolen: Spokane, WA Area

It is with a mixture of anger and sadness that I am posting the theft of one of our customer's bikes from Holy Family Hospital while he was at work. The bike is a Titanium Moots Mooto X 29" hard tail mountain bike. The bike was custom built for his 6'7" frame and very unique as a result.

It is built with Shimano XTR 2x10 and a 180mm crank. Easton Carbon Tubeless Wheels and white Fox fork are the other major components. Please forward/share this post to as many people as you can and call law enforcement immediately if you see this bike.

Two Wheel Transit Bicycles is offering a $100 reward for information leading to the recovery of this bike in good condition. Please call us at 509-747-2231

Potentially good news to report, as a cache of "high end" bikes were just recovered in Marin:

Posting for a good friend, the bike has not the value of many above this post but it has all the sentimental value as any. Pictured is his trusty (and rusty) old Schwinn New World stolen from the front of his place in Ocean Beach. Grips are black but otherwise the same. If any San Diegans should spy it give me a shout.

Came across this on Facebook. The guy apparently has surveillance in his garage but that didn't help them from being taken.

RECOVERED BIKE ALERT: Got this message from Cameron Falconer today: "I bought a Hunter 26" mountain bike this morning from a homeless guy in GGP. It's dark blue, rigid fork. Ring any bells? I know it went through bicycle trip in Santa Cruz and I emailed Rick Hunter to see what he knows as well. Thanks!"

If anyone is missing this bike (or knows who is), please let me know!

At least one little girl got her bike back.

http://www.arlnow.com/2014/09/05/pol...3121-294709041

I feel for those who get robbed. There's the money of course, but also the fact that it's your bike. Those who've been on the board for a while might remember my moaning about my own loss of a bike on Washington's K street (weekday, broad daylight) a few years back. It got replaced in time, with something great, in fact, and I'm totally fine, but I still chafe at the thought of the theft.

It's nice when there's a recovery, but not typical -- you can and should take reasonable precautions (and hope for the best after the fact), but mostly these things make me glad that I have decent insurance.

Found: something stinks & it aint bacon.

Boulder, CO:
We found a Landshark Roadshark frame stashed behind our shop downtown & haven't had anyone come in looking for it, which leads us to believe it may have been stolen & then abandonded or some such other scenario. Its a real nice piece of steel & I would like to get it back to whoever owns it if possible.
Email me with a detailed description of this Slawta-made machine & we will proceed from there.
