The BMW F800GT in white was one of my earlier choices.

Sold my last bike back in '07 (CBR600). Was too much for me, power wise. But that CB300 looks awesome. Might be the "just right" engine size for me.

Although I keep hoping Triumph will come out with a ~400cc version of the Speed Triple.

I tried one and the position is a bit too leaned forward.

Back issues will seen my time on road bicycles end in 1-3 years, otherwise I'd be on a custom Kirk right now. Basically I'm saving my back for roadbikes (bicycles), and may revisit the Street Triple later on. Great moto the Triumph worth a triple exclamation!!! I even went back to look last week.

First mistake: going to the dealer
Second mistake: sitting on it

Unless you've got a terminal need for a Duc, do NOT ride it. You already know you want it. Ride it and the willpower to resist will be gone.

I like riding Ducatis. It reminds me of all the things I like about my Japanese bikes. And reminds me what a broken clutch might sound like!

Lol @ christian! I put all euro bikes in the same category. Not for primary transportation without at least ownership of a bus pass. The 821s however, are very very nice. iIt would definitely be a close call between it and the street triple.

Don't you know that.....

Sadly, most Ducs have wet clutches these days. I love the sound of the dry clutch, I always get a smile on the inside when someone comes up to me and says "What's wrong with your bike...it's making a funny noise." And frankly, after owning one, I'll never buy another Japanese bike....

Same here. I was disappointed the 899 Panigale has a wet clutch.

On the one hand, I got to borrow a Hyperstrada S from Ducati a few years ago and a week was just long enough to have a lot of fun, and not really miss it when it went back.

On the other hand, a 1997 900 SS/FE is obviously what god intended when he said, "Let there be sport bikes."

Amen. Mine is a '95 900SS/SP so essentially the same.

If the FZ-07 is anywhere near as good as my FZ-1 was you would love it.

Sadly after taking a trip to the West Coast I realized the complete futility of motorcycling in Manitoba and eventually sold it ...

Random comment that of course does not apply to anyone on this forum:

Lately whenever it think of motorcycles I think of this event a while back:

ooo a MC thread.
I'd love to get a second bike, one of these BMW G650X's for a new-ish around town commuter and dual sport capable bike. Reliable and good gas mileage and very light.

but for now I've just got a classic 84 R80ST.
