I like what Mitch Pryor was doing with MAP cycles

I really like doing the Bi-lam on the seat/top tube junction

Some very fine work being presented so far, thanks to all.

Nice frames, Matt. Builders are?

I love the bilam headtubes, but looking at them closely, does that technique serve a purpose or is it just builders showing off their chops? I think Winter Cycles has some crazy examples of this technique as well.

Drool...

PS I will try to post my fillet brazed Speedvagen someday. It's pretty low key compared to
rex and coconino stuff.

I'm no builder, and may be very wrong, but my understanding is that bi-lam (and full fillet of course) allows the builder to build any tt/dt angles on a given ht length, which isn't possible with pre-made lugsets (one has to adjust the ht length, possibly tube diameters, etc.). Basically, fillet-brazed for structure + bi-lam (I think Winter calls them "mono lug") for a partial lug aesthetic.

I think.

The Winters I've seen are all beautiful. I have never seen a fillet-brazed SV. It must be nice.

Merged.

I think that sums it up pretty well.

I wanted a drop bar Fat bike built with a lugged aesthetic and had Joel at Clockwork build me a bi-lam Fat to facilitate.

Will post pics when I have the chance. Here is a link from Joel's album:
