Providing absolutely no information about the new iteration of a brand notorious for being dysfunctional does not give an impression that things will be any different now.

definitely possible and much cooler to have a FTW frame. I do now mine is a portland havocstaff with easily 28mm clearance, can fit 30 in the back but caped by the enve fork.

I have a 1995 Spooky darkside from FTW

It's a hell of a bike even being 21 years old.

I really loved my Skeletor.

I had to get rid of it because it didn't fit properly - a force-fit led to improper weight distribution - but damn, I really loved how it rode and how it looked.

I'd get another in a heartbeat. Give me a tapered headtube on a new one, keep a threaded BB, and I'd be a happy camper.

so i'm bummed mickey nor frank are part of this, BUT if you make a new havocstaff or skeletor that clears 28's, has an oversized HT, and keep the same crit geometry - i'd be down. maybe not at the pricepoint they had when FTW was doing the fab, but maybe.

In fact they did.

Guys, more info coming very soon. We plan on sharing it here and across the hall as well prior to the full launch for your semi-private early viewing. We're fortunate to have the blessings of Adam and Kevin behind us, we are a new crew, though.

As we finalize designs we're open to suggestions. You can reach us at info@wearespooky.com.

44mm headtube and threaded BB are both standard.

I can give you a bit. We are speccing clearance for a minimum of 28c tires but still using short-reach calipers. It's a balance allowing the use of the most popular calipers but larger tires.

If anyone can make us exactly what we want, it's Frank.

Oh yeah, Frank. He's making the first batch of bikes. You guys see that? YES.

I did notice that. If pricing is right this should be a total winner. If anyone isn't familiar, Frank the Welder is one of the best frame builders in the US you never heard of. He's done his fair share of contract building. He's also amazing at tube manipulation (shaping).

oh man, now I'm really stoked

I'm assuming this will be a batch of road frames you're talking about, yes? unfortunately, I need a mtb more than a road frame at the moment, but that doesn't entirely rule me out...
