Breadwinner Cycles: Moving Sale 5/17 + 5/18

Just saw on Instagram that Breadwinner is having a moving sale.

Didn't see anything on their website, otherwise I would have linked it but details from the post:

2323 N Williams Ave
Friday May 17, 12-6pm
Saturday May 18th, 9-3pm

Looks to be a smattering of tools, parts, frames/completes, and other goodies.

If I were local I'd snag one of those bullet vices they have in the pictures, but alas I don't and shipping wouldn't be worth the weight.

Hopefully we'll see a bunch of these come to PL like the Speedvagen sale.

I was just looking at their Instagram the other day as I haven't seen a new post in some months. Hope everything is going okay for them. I love my G-Road!

I wondered what would happen after Ira left. I haven't heard from him in a while. I think Breadwinner was something that took them both to make it fly.

Their post says they have coffee mugs from having a cafe previously. If someone is going and the mugs are BW branded, will you grab me one ?

Snagged a frame (had it signed) and some parts to put it together. Lot of good stuff was being bought.

not trying to perpetuate rumors or anything, but i have to imagine it’s real tough right now to run a small business and simultaneously attempt pay all employees a living wage (see SV, etc). Climbing costs, interest rates, and so on.

I stopped in and talked with Tony, Ira, and Ryan (sugar wheel works) at length the last time I was in Portland and they are all superb humans.

I wish them all the very best. I still love my G-Road!

Nice! I saw that frame hanging on the wall on their insta reel and thought - that might fit! Hahahah.

Any comments about what was happening or they are shutting down?

I think I have one of those sets sitting on a shelf somewhere. If I were local I would have loved to take a look, specifically at some of the tooling. I hope they are doing okay.

One of Tony’s comments on either insta or FB confirmed that they were moving to a smaller shop and that this large one was too expensive. No details on new location though.

Portland is a crazy expensive market. When a trustafarian who can afford the creation of a custom lug/dropout (Vanilla) can't make it bike biz without decreasing in size or scale...none of us can. RIP

I emailed the other day regarding putting a deposit down. I got a quick reply from Tony that they are changing things up to cut down on costs. They're still taking deposits & booked through the summer.
