way OT: Have you seen the movie Get Out?
I was looking for a movie to rent via my Comcast last night. Stumbled upon this one available and then saw it had 99% positive tomatoes. Watched it and thought is was the most provocative thing I'd seen in a real long time. An interesting combination of a lot of genres; horror (really), political, humor, race...and somebody had to think it up, write it, and then make movie.

I just checked my email 10 seconds ago and saw that it's on the way from Netflix. Kinda weird to then see it mentioned here.
I have no idea what it is, but I guess I'll find out. |

I want to see it, it's in our Netflix queue. Jordan Peele (from Key and Peele) wrote and directed it. A very bright guy.

Hell yeah, that movie rules. Are you white? Watch it. Are you a person of color? Watch it.

Matt, can People of the Sun (aka Moz Lovers) watch it?

not quite just a "somebody". jordan peele has a very strong background, including 5 seasons on MadTV, and co-hosting key & peele on comedy central for 5 seasons (and winning a couple of emmys for it), etc.
"key and peele" was always laced with its own versions of horror, politics, humor, and race, so it makes sense his movie would do the same. highly recommend catching some reruns if you get a chance. especially the one about "black ice". |

I'm a big fan of Key and Peele but found Get Out disappointing. After all the hype, I was expecting more. I found nothing in the film worth telling others to watch regardless of their race, color, religious creed, national origin, ancestry, sex, sexual orientation, age, genetic information, military service, or disability.

we really enjoyed the movie (saw it in theatres) and are looking forward to re-watching now that we know...thanks for the heads-up about it coming out on netflix. Key/Peele are a funny team...was funny to see them pop up in the Fargo series too.

I found it very watchable, but not quite up to the initial hype.
I don't generally watch many movies, and watched a copy of 'Get Out' on my iPad on the plane, so no theater experience, even home theater. It was certainly thought provoking, and I didn't feel like it wasted my time. That's an endorsement, where I come from. Edit: Love Key and Peele. |

Excellent movie...believe the hype.
Echoing what someone else said, "if you're white, see it, if you're a person of color, any color, see it. Thought provoking for some of "us"... I give it 5 ! |

(if you haven't, there are spoilers) so many subtle things that make me want to go back and watch again. |

This is the movie that, after I saw it, I had to tell everyone about. I can't recommend it highly enough. Totally bananas in a great way. It's smart, funny, creepy/scary, and more. You all should def check it out.
Hopefully I'm not hyping it up too much. I saw it without much expectation and was floored; that said, however, it's so well-done and provocative that I don't think you could possibly be disappointed. |

I'll endorse as well, it was the last movie I saw in theaters. Very good!
