The combination of data mining, surveillance, and instant delivery scares the poo-doo out of me. I'm not sure I have the conscious willpower to overcome their manipulation of my psyche. Will they know I'm on a bike ride and want to consumer an entire bag of frozen fries when I get home...and have them waiting? Will they see my FTP dropping and send me some muscle melk? Will they see my average sleep trending down and suggest extra strong coffee and a side of melatonin?

Nice! Whole Paycheck is how my wife and I refer to the store.

I believe the local Vitamin Cottage is still in business. The Whole Foods store in our neighborhood that replaced Wild Oats closed in February.

Curious how long it takes before there's Amazon delivery boxes at all of the WF locations. Swinging by WF to pick up your delivery and some staples makes a lot of sense.

Maynard had it right 20 years ago..

Fret for your figure and fret for your latte and
Fret for your lawsuit and fret for your hairpiece and
Fret for your Prozac and fret for your pilot and
Fret for your contract and fret for your car
It's a bu||$h!t three ring circus sideshow of...

And some say the end is near
Some say we'll see Armageddon soon
I certainly hope we will
I sure could use a vacation from this
Stupid $h!t, silly $h!t, stupid $h!t...
One great big festering neon distraction

I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way
I wanna watch it all go down

Don't just call me pessimist, try and read between the lines
I can't imagine why you wouldn't welcome any change

But enough of all that, I got a bike to go build

How did Amazon's value go UP by $15 billion with the announcement? Doesn't it, um, usually work the other way?

Whole Foods has great brick n' mortar distribution channels and infrastructure set up, and will open new customer opportunities for Amazon...I'm guessing.

Saw a report that Amazon plans to let you buy on line and drive up to collect your pre-bagged order at a drive-thru.

Also plans for walk-out shopping with automatic payment by using an app. Thus would eliminate checkout lines and speed shopping time.

It is still down that much since June 2nd. Not that Amazon stays down for long.

the complexities are outlined here

I tried to give a good gosh darn, but then got tired of reading. I had never heard of the Instacart app. Seems as if Amazon could simply create regional food warehouses and then have food shipped to your door really fast. Instacart seems to be a pivot of some sort in this deal. Uberizing of groceries.

My local Real Canadian Superstore has had feature for well over a year, probably longer.
