Sidi Shoe Size Question

Thinking about getting new shoes and having size questions.

Currently wearing Specialized, size EU 44, US 11.

The shoe is just okay length-wise, with the tip of the big toe touching the front of the shoe and I think I could use a bit more room. Toe box itself is constricted so I definitely need wider toe box.

A while back a kind forumite let me try his Sidi Ergo 2 44.5 before buying and I find that it fits about the same as my Specialized. So I think I will need a bit bigger.

I am thinking about getting a pair of Sidi Genius 7 and the sizes confuses me a bit. On the websites they list EU 45.5 for US 11, so the EU size is 1.5 bigger than the Specialized sizes relative to US sizes. I might try a pair of 45 Mega and see if it works.

For comparison in regular shoes, my Rockport US 10.5/EU 44.5 Wide dress shoes fits really well and comfortable. So it seems like shoe sizes are crap shoots.

I was wondering if anyone have similar comparison experience between Specialized/Sidi?

Thanks in advance.

Not between spec and sidi, but I have worn sidi for a long time and they are narrow in regular last. Narrower than most.

Thanks. Guess I have to go with Mega.

I wear a 41.5 in a Specialized #74 shoe and a 42 in a Sidi 5 (I think it's the same as the Genius series shoes).

I'm around the same size as you and I wear a 44.5 Sidi. They are definitely narrow in the toe, generally.

Go with the mega...Sidi runs very narrow and I don't have a super wide foot and run the mega.

I've slightly overall wider than normal feet and have had good fit experience with genius, ergos, kaos and now wires . I dont know if i would generally classify them as narrow. Best to find a place to try them on as wide and narrow are subjective.

Out of every manufacturer I've tried, Sidi is the only shoe I have to wear a "wide" in. Just my two cents!

I measure 9.5 EEE...the Sidi Dominator 46 Mega fits well.

One more data point. I wear an 11.5 to 12 wide size in US shoes size. A Sidi 47 Mega fits me very well.

Specialized also does a wide size for some of their shoes. They're probably also worth checking out if you're otherwise happy with your current shoes.

Thank you all for the input. I think I will try 45 Mega for my US 10.5 W feet.

Hope that will work.

This should probably be a new thread, but does anyone have a comparison for Sidi Wire vs. Sidi Genius 5? I'm a perfect 43.5 in the Genius 5, but I hear the Wire runs even smaller? This would put me at a 44, which I can't imagine.

If you can try them on or purchase them from a vendor that you can return them to if they don't fit. Biketiresdirect has a good return policy. Also, they are starting a Sidi sale here in a day or two..

Another data point:
I wear a 44 in Specialized. It fits well. The toe box could be a bit roomier.
I wear a 44 Mega in Sidi. It fits well and i like the toe box room. I found the Sidi 44 Normal very constricting in the toe box.

Sidi Shoe Size Question

I wore Sidi's in a regular width for years, in the end, they're very narrow. Also keep in mind that you're probably going to want an after-market footbed in there. Once you add that, (I like superfeet carbon) the regulars are super constricting.

I was given a 65% off Giro coupon so I snagged some Empires and VR90s. Trying them on they already felt way more comfortable than the Sidi regulars.

EDIT: who in the world buys Sidi narrows?
