Tinariwen performing "Sastanàqqàm" Live on KCRW (LA)
This band is so great, especially live in a small club. I've seen a video where they played with Flea and Klinghoffer from RHCP...it was OK, but not so special. I think if they got together with Los Lobos some real magic could happen. . .

I'm underwhelmed so far by both the production and the songs - almost annoyed, even. Can't stand the multi-tracking of Mick's voice and the Chuck Berry throwback material wears quickly. Tumbling Dice is the lone standout so far, but I already knew that from growing up with FM radio. I'm only 5 songs in, so hopefully it'll get better.

If you dig this style of music, or at least appreciate it, you will love this. It's by Nitin Sawhney.

Then open your eyes after a minute or two...betcha do a double take. Niki Wells is the vocals. Angelic voice. Some serious, immensely talented musicians here.
