The 115k is a lot harder than the 100k if you want a challenge and dont want to do the 160/180k

Am going to ride one of these routes next week on newly-built gravel bike. Any advice as to the availability of services on the various routes? I never took notice at the actual event since of course there is no need to worry about that!

Did the 115k yesterday, 2014 vintage. Was nice having original event cues identifying unsigned roads and other landmarks. I brought enough food which was good since no services on the route. I was able to get water at a town hall, a library, and a spring.

I did the Mystery Tour last year. As I recall, there were a couple small stores in Charlemont at about the half way point.

Nice job. I'm impressed that you brought enough food; it can get ugly out there without calories. And kudos for finding water on the route; that's what I call resourceful.

I chose the 115 due to getting a late start (Was a detour on my way driving from Portland to RI so did not start until about 10:30) and also because the route is more compact east-west wise with 112 cutting through the center of it and intersecting in a couple of places. I would not have had to go to far if I had to find something. Looking at the map now, I see a store very close to the route at the intersection of 100 and 112. I've even been to that store a few times on different rides. That is about mile 46. I started about 10 miles in, so would have only been 36 miles in. The main thing for me was water. I drank a lot early on. I had only two water bottles and I am used to three, though the fork blades on the bike actually accept water bottles. On the other hand, there are rivers and streams all over the course as a last resort.

Dumb question, but is that water safe to drink? (city boy revealing his true colors here)

Not dumb at all. Typically I always assume there is possibility such water has bacteria that could make you sick-giardia, etc. So only as a very last resort. I suppose on this course you are always close enough to services that you would always be able to avoid drinking surface water. On the other hand I usually trust springs.

Is there gonna be another Paceline riding group this year? I'd be down for the 100 or 115.

I'll be there and camping the night before too. My plan is for the 180 or 160k.

2019 for me maybe...I wish I could do it this year or next, but I am already signed up for Raputitsa for next year and that's already a cross country haul.
