Anything special about breaking Record 11 chain?
Was going to switch chain lubes (probably to NFS from R&R Gold) and wanted to remove my Campy Record 11 chain for a full cleaning before switching. I will reattach with a KMC link, so no peening needed.
My only question is whether there some rule about where to break it? The only thing I can find indicates to "identify the opening link" and that you don't want to use the original joining pin, or is this also fine since I will be going with a KMC link anyway? I have a proper Park 3.2 chain tool to break it. Just don't want to mess anything up since there's plenty of life left in it. |

Nope, just break away. I push the original pin that was used to join it out, if I can find it. In the end, it dosent matter.
