Your bb30 probably wasn't set up appropriately.

I've had 5 cannondale frames that were bb30 and not a single one creaks. And I'm 6'4" tall and 235-245 lbs depending on how much i have been riding.

i didnt read the whole thread, so i dont know if somebody has said this yet, but sometimes your front shift cable can bend out into where you are pedaling, and every time your foot goes around you hear a click.

other obvious choices:
- grease chainring bolts
- lube chain
- tighten cassette
- grease pedal threads?

idk

Saddle/seatpost swap did it

I swapped the saddle and seat post as a unit and no creak!
The creaker is a Thompson Elite with a Selle Italia Maxflite Gel Flow saddle. The alternate set-up is also a Thompson Elite but with a Koobi AU Enduro saddle.
When I first began looking for the creak, I took the Selle Italia off the seatpost and greased all the parts then re-assembled (which I haven't ever done on any other bike) and that didn't change the creak. I double checked that both seatposts are indeed 27.2mm (hell, they're both black if it makes a diff!). I have Thompson Elite seatposts on 5 bikes, no other bikes creak.

Some time on the Google machine gets some hits on Selle Italia saddles creaking. I'm going to squirt some Boeshield in where the rails go into the plastic to see if that helps. Any other fixes?

I did that to start, when it was first mentioned in this thread, and it didn't help. I think I've got the issue down to the saddle itself. I dripped some Boeshield in the rails where they enter the plastic and did a very short test and that might be it.
I really appreciate so many contributions to this thread!

Yup it's the Selle Italia!

35 miles yesterday with nary a creak after dripping the Boeshield on the rails where they enter the plastic support structure.

I don't care. It's still the BB30's fault!
