If you like photojournalism, reportage, documentary photography, that sort of thing..

..then this new book by Magnum (the storied French photo agency) should be right up your alley. Just learned about it recently and plan on buying a copy myself.

I bet this book is great. T&H is a good house, and Magnum is perhaps the best agency ever.

I agree. In my shooting years, there's nothing in life I would have loved more than to receive an invitation from Magnum to join. Which, if you're an amateur cyclist, is a bit like waiting for Team Sky to call

Wow, so bib shorts were de rigueur even back in 1939?

I love Magnum's work, but I was looking at this in a bookshop and it didn't look like their best stuff.

Paolo's work is amazing even if he's managed to piss some folks off over the years with his story "management." His wife Katherine was a student of mine at a workshop years ago and is an amazing photographer in her own right.

I would love to see Martin Parr take on the TDF. It would be glorious.
