I taught my little man to ride last weekend . My daughter went first and is a wise little grasshopper (6yrs), but that 4yr old is trouble. Took him out for a ride this weekend, and he had his head down pedalling as hard as he could - veering into oncoming traffic from time to time. I see a few injuries in the near future .

The joy on their faces is palpable

i am lately more and more conscious of how much the weather affects my mood.

a good glass of scotch and a decent cigar last night on the patio. weather ideal, cool breeze, slightly overcast; warm enough for shorts and bare feet.

known as "the drinking man's scotch", dewars is my go-to drink 7 days a week, but when the moment calls for it, i pull out a bottle of something better.

A Rocky Patel and Macallan 15 was last night's simple pleasure, and it was - simply pleasurable.

Standing in a river. Fly rod in hand. Light snow falling. Three geese in formation flying low along the river.

I stopped for about 3 minutes to take in the quiet solitude.

this is one of my favorite parts of riding my bike in the woods. Stop and enjoy the solitude. Don't even have to go far.
