Dumoulin is doing great, lets see what happens in the last week tho. Hesjedal did ok today, this dude needs to take some "smarties" or he will end up in the top ten after 2 weeks trying to get the time back as happened last year, force is not with him either and by force I mean his team, dude has been racing by himself since last year.

Dumoulin is good, but I don't think Nibali, Valverde, Landa, and the other GC favorites are really scared at this point.

Looking forward to ITT on Sunday, they are roads I ride a lot, especially the final descent into Greve from Panzano. They just repaved all the bad spots, and I would expect to see 90 km/hr on parts of it as it is pretty wide and smooth. There are a couple tricky corners with decreasing radius. Not sure I would want to do that on a TT bike. It's also a mildly steep climb up to Panzano. My wife will go watch, but I am in the US right now, so will have to live with TV

Wow hats off to todays winner. He did a helluva job coming back from getting boxed in with 2-300 meters to go.

That is twice where he had to find a way through traffic, very impressive.

I was a little behind on the BeIn Sports recordings and just watched Thursday's stage tonight. DuMoulin might be focused on the Olympic TT this year, but he is showing great respect for the pink jersey. It was great when he countered Nibali's move.

DuMoulin might as well keep defending the jersey as long as he can.

My brother and I are in Tuscany about 4 miles from Radda, where the ITT will start on Sunday. The route, as intimated by rrudoff, is very tough and twisty. I'm thinking there are several descents on the course where they'll hit 90 km/h, especially the one he mentioned and the one out of Castellina down toward San Donato. There's a huge promotional push going on for the stage by the Chianti producers, whose symbol is the Gallonero (black rooster):

I'm doing a bit of riding, though not much due to crappy weather here this week, but will be out for a long ride today, on my Kirk:

The course is shown below in red. We've driven the entire loop in the rain the other day--the yellow return to Radda portion is positively gnarly (albeit paved).

Gianluca Brambilla – Tappa e Maglia!

Today is a good day, an Italian snags the pink and a stage win in the Giro! Bravo!

Also great commentary today…

The mother of the imbecile is always pregnant.

Sounds even better in its original beautiful language…

La mamma dei cretini è sempre incinta

I don’t like Greipel and I don’t know why
Perhaps cuz he is scary and Cav is my guy!
An Aryan gorilla fills some with fright
A German dominated Giro? Man it just ain’t right.
Brambilla is riding with class, while some eat grass.
Anyone else see those four pieces of …? (I like the white one)

That’s all the corn I got, Shucks!
