An older, but rather good tip for your Garmin (via DC Rainmaker)

I've done this with other devices before, but hadn't thought to do it with my Garmin 520. When I saw this when poking around the DCRainmaker site, I figured it was worth a post as it'd be a huge PITA to lose your Garmin.

Essentially you can edit the startup text to display whatever you want. Wouldn't be surprised if you can do this on WAHOO or POLAR devices too (though I don't have any to test my theory on - also prob good to be careful with this kinda thing)

In my case, I added "Reward if found" and my name and number.

I hadn't done this to my Edge 1000 I just got but will.

My first garmin, an Etrex Vista, had this way back in 2001, along with a nasty habit of shutting off when you hit a bump.

Lame... but a plastic adhesive label will. Or even Sharpee

And I can't believe I've never thought to do even that

Thanks

Since I have a 500, none of this matters.
