As ColonelJLloyd said, exact actuation is exact actuation. I use a Rival 11s shifter with a GX 10 speed Type 2.1 rear derailleur. The shifting is perfect.

SRAM probably doesn't want, among other things, to deal with potential customers who don't realize that the MTB derailleurs lack a barrel adjuster, install them on their gravel/road/whatever bike, and then get mad that they can't fine-tune their shifting. After all, the Force 1 rear derailleur is essentially a SRAM MTB derailleur with a barrel adjuster added on.

Because adding an in-line adjuster is such a challenge...

Works perfectly. My experience has been that Exact Actuation is Exact Actuation is Exact Actuation, though I have not used a clutch RD.

Thank you for heads up on WTB. I think cassette has par value trade with Trail This, but did miss return window. Talking with them now.

Excact is exact was my understanding, but called just to make sure. Why I questioned answer given. Response was sorry won't work - go with CX1. Decided not to get into details.

My gravel bike currently is Campy 46/34 with 11-32 cassette and I'm happy with that combination. I'm trying to decide how I want the Firefly I'm going to win this weekend at D2R2 built up.

Actually I'm considering building a disc brake, gravel race bike for next year, and 1x seems to be a popular option. Sort of waiting for more reviews of the new Campy disc, and Shimano Ultegra 8150 before I decide on which way to go.

What's the biggest tire you can fit and clear the FD battery?
