If she's training pretty seriously for the marathon maybe the Stryd running power meter to help with her training? Or if she's not using a coach or structured training plan sign her up with a local or virtual coach or subscribe to an online training plan.

My wife likes these headbands for running. You can customize them (put a stormtrooper on it from your son ) or pick and choose.

I second the running coach idea if she doesn't already work with one. There are online options, but there is nothing better than a one on one in person coaching session.

might be off base here since I'm not married but if shes adventurous you could go skydiving..lot folks have that on their bucket list it seems and its fun and you can get photos and documentation about your jump etc.I did that with some family members and was a lot of fun.
