I mean, if any of you feel you have too many nice bikes and not enough old trucks, PM me. I have an FJ40 90% finished in Mountain View, CA. I stopped working on it over a year ago and have been half-assed trying to sell it since.

That's great! There's a good little community here in Austin of old LCs. LCS is really at the epicenter of it...

These have occasionally caught my attention over the years- especially the AMG versions. I almost pulled the trigger on a minty black/black 2005 G55 about a month ago. I had clearance from the family CFO but decided that an extra car wasn't needed and couldn't see replacing my 100 series. The G55 was really cool. I loved it and may end up with one eventually.

Here's a fun video from Chris Harris about the G63 -

I like his comment about it possibly being the most pointless car on the market.

Love Land Cruisers. Here is mine. I have been wanting a 62 for some time, but just haven't pulled the trigger.

In high school, a friend of mine's family had an FJ60. I still remember the night we drove it up a local municipal ski slope and did donuts in the snow at the summit. Such cool vehicles.

I tried to buy this one in 2008 but my limit was $11,000 - it was a 1973 FJ40 with 253 original miles on it - a rich guy in Maine had bought it to snowplow his driveway of a garage he had full of crazy expensive cars.

https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/162...?category=list

Problem was a saudi arabian had called in before the auction and authorized bids up to $20,000 so once it went past $11k there was no point. It was probably the lowest mileage fj40 around I would have to think.

Looks like i should have bought it anyway as it recently sold for $73,000 http://www.goodingco.com/vehicle/1973-toyota-fj40/

Absolutely agree. That's its perverse lure.

I don't want an old Land Cruiser. I want a new(ish) Land Cruiser.

Me too as much as I like the capability of the older models . I'd like a 100 series with low miles. I haven't found quite the right one yet. The early 200 would be fine also but they have thrown too many electronic gegaws I don't need in the current iterations. Of course the newer ones are too expensive .

Agreed. But they are oh so delicious. But I don't really want some of the glop like the rear seat video monitors. And I really really really wish the third row seats were owner removable; as in made to be removed. Not a project with tools and holes in the factory carpet when they're out.

They need a few delete options and I'd like to see it get 20+ MPG and I'd be on board.

If you need something with more creature comforts but are still very capable 4x4's, you can find Delica's here in the states...

Pop top anyone?

The Icon stuff is nice. New old vehicle but it will cost you a pretty penny.
