I've never been a fan of the company since they purchased the natural grocery store near us and pretty much kept their inventory but jacked up the prices dramatically, 25-30 percent on most of the items I bought regularly. They also have been fined for selling meat that weighed less than what was listed on the package, violating hazardous waste laws, and allegedly had unwritten policies that screwed their lower level employees out of their bonuses. Hopefully things will improve with the new owners.

What's funny is WalMart and Target often have all the organic stuff, usually (though not always) at better prices - I just hate stepping foot inside their stores...

Time will tell.

Another huge German grocer is coming and the other is expanding.

Just the other day we bought some stuff at WF & as usual, brought our own bag so we can save 10 cents.

Typically I like to have that 10 cents deducted from my balance but the guy at the register said "I'll just donate your bag rebate" without a request or my approval.

I didn't really like that, it just came off wrong. Petty, yes. I know!

But I had to correct him and noted that that since at that point the stock was lagging for a few years I'll just keep those cents. I noted that I'll start donating once that stock rebounds.

Anyways, I'm going to donate for sure now. I'm thinking about donating myself a new Big Green Egg!

Amazon is notoriously terrible to its employees (https://www.nytimes.com/2015/08/16/t...workplace.html)

WF is supposedly great. I wonder if that will change.

On Twitter:

Not sure how Whole Foods is only worth 13.7B when that's how much it costs to get your weekly groceries there.
