Most of my rides are late afternoon. I like knowing how much time I have until sunset.

Wrist watch? Let me count. Cell phone as a clock. Cyclometer has a clock. Head unit for power meter has a clock. Three. How many clocks does a man need while riding?

Ha! I tucked my Sinn U1 into the storage cubby of my truck before my ride today. Great tank of a watch (mine's the SDR version).

What wristwatch do you ride with?

I do not have a bike computer or GPS on my bike. For a watch, when riding I wear a Timex Ironman digital.

The sad thing is that although not astoundingly attractive, it is a stupidly good watch.

G-Shock

Must-haves: Big hands, waterproof, durable, and cheap. So I go with a low-end G-shock.

Movado-Parlee

Love watches - especially mechanicals, but stopped wearing them years ago.

Soon-to-ship Ti/CF Movado-Parlee limited edition had me thinkin' ...

... but, nah, just another that would end up in a drawer.

In other matters that we won't go into I may have a different opinion, but when it comes to watches I don't like the models with big knobs that stick out.

Since I have no electronics on the bike whatsoever, it's a Timex Ironman on the wrist.

Cell phone in the back pocket in two plastic bags - on mute. "I'll call you - don't call me"

i love watches, but unfortunately the fact that i can always figure out what time it is by looking at some nearby device at all times has gotten me away from using them very much any more. which makes me a bit sad, actually. i still flirt with them from time to time, but then they get removed for riding and after a few rides i'll forget to put it on after and won't wear again for weeks...

as far as wearing while riding, my take is: in the summer, anything extra i have to wear in the heat is no good. and when it's cooler, i can't see the thing through my long sleeves anyway. so a bike computer does the job for me.
