Any reason why I shouldn’t use this stuff for a clear coat?

http://www.autozone.com/paint-and-bo...el/465393_0_0/

I was told it would be the most durable.

I am not there yet just double checking. The first layer of paint layed down nice and flat. Me heppy.

Hmmm thnx, like what will it not play nice with?

Acrylic, acrylic enamel or oil based paint should be ok no?

I bought some bike frame tubes years ago from a renowned builder but never got around to doing anything with them, I am using one of them to experiment on, so i will test the clear on the test tube first.

All pumped up! A Silca restoration thread.

What can cause internal leakage? The plunger rises and the pressure goes down on my track pump. I pulled the check valve and blew the housing out with compressed air, but it still has an internal leak. The small o-ring on the check valve linked OK. I put the bottom of the pump in a bucket of water when pressurized and there is no external leak. I guess I'll have to pull the plunger and check valve and blow it all out. Maybe there's a particle of leather in there or something holding the check valve open.

Update: I replaced the small o-ring on the check valve and that fixed the leak.
