Three puppies were rescued today

They weren't even moving earlier today despite our best efforts to revive them at the bike co-op. They were essentially given up for the dead by their respective owners. I took pity on them and brought them home. After performing my secret ceremony and calling on the four elements: earth, water, wind, and fire, I began to inject copius amount of the 40th formula of the late Great Grand Master Norman Larsen of the Rocket Chemical Company... until a torrent flood started to break out of every known orifice. They are mostly brown and black in color, with the occasional green in extreme cases. These are the poison accumulated over years of neglect and abuse, running through their veins, with death almost assured. Not wanting to give up so easily, I made a last ditch effort by employing the Miyagi Palm healing technique....it started with one click, followed by two...three...four...five...finally they got to nine clicks... Nine...CLICKS!! hahahaha... lightning flashes, thunder roars. The same emergency procedure was performed on all three victims, and with incredible luck... Yes! Luck played an important role here. Most of them never awoken from their sleep, only a few escaped the clutches of the angels of death. We got three survivors today.

This was almost (but not quite) as weird as Sandy's "drunks touching my new Cayman" story ages ago.

You actually had me going through the first sentence.

But then I realized: this mixed-reference tour de force was more important than any pound puppies. Somewhere out there, 9 speed shifters thrive in the wild, rolling bravely against the wind. On some cliff, far from 11 speed cassettes, they wait for a bike coop hand to emerge from a gentle mist of solvent...

Cue the soft flute:

To pals who came and visited my thread but felt they were led on...my sincere apology. To make it up to you, I have searched through the entire universe and found the cutest puppies there are that our human eyes have ever laid upon. Hope this helps keep you in fine spirit for today!
