storing wheels
How do you guys store your wheels in the garage? I want something that I can hang my numerous sets on and interested to see how other people have their garage set up.

Mine are in the basement. I made S-hooks out of 12g Romex inner wire and hang them from the overhead water pipes.

I keep mine in the garage on one of these. Don't even have to lift a finger when I need one, a frantic guy jumps out of the car and takes care of everything.

If you have beams you can screw hooks, those work well. I use wheel bags and store them in a loft. If I run out of bags, I store them in wheel boxes, usually one per box to avoid scratches. I also store them with tires & skewers installed.

I just keep mine in wheel bags on the floor.
If I had a proper garage I would probably do hooks. |

My lovely wife put up a slew of hooks on my garage ceiling for wheels. I have wheel bags for most sets. Some of the beaters are just hung up there naked.

I got a long piece of metal electrical conduit that was longer than my garage door rails.
Placed the conduit over the rails and hung my wheels on there with these: ] Viola! Just be careful that the emergency release cable doesn't snag as the door goes up and down. I shortened my cable. |

I've heard of people doing the same with a sheet of plywood or a 2x4 and then hanging that on the wall. just screw the hooks in until they're sideways and then hang the wheels "upright" on them.

Storage
Locate the studs in your ceiling, use lag bolts to secure a 2x4. Now you have a surface to screw your hooks into. Total cost under $20.
