I thought all Canadians were nice. Never did I think I would see a video where one used the "F" word.

Repeated statements to the camera and bystanders..."I tried to walk away" (as he puts the club into his pocket) makes me think he's been on this merry-go-round before.

So in Canadian, the thug would receive a 5 minute major penalty, the camera recorder gets a 3rd man in game misconduct, and the cyclist gets an additional 2 minutes for instigation.

In all seriousness, the message here is don't engage cars, no matter what, because you don't know what sociopath may be behind the wheel.

Article said the attacker was arrested "later" at his home. So he just gets to leave the scene? Total B.S. If I were one of the witnesses, guarantee he wouldn't have got back in his truck. He's staying put until the law shows up.

Seeing as this is Canada, the guy in the pickup truck will probably get an apology and 10.5 million bucks from Trudeau.

It's uneducated comments like this that makes any serious discussion impossible.

What ignorance

He's Canadian, so he can make snarky remarks about the PM with impunity. Kind of like our 97th Amendment, the "Right to Piss & Moan about the Government, but everyone else has to say we're the greatest."

Pardon? Not ignorant at all. Been following the OmKh case for years. Being snarky, yes...but certainly not uneducated.

This goes both ways. There are plenty of sociopaths on bikes too, and many of them would gladly have escalated that situation with fists, a gun, or a knife. The motorist is lucky the cyclist wasn't, for example, an ex-military dude with PTSD and violent homicidal tendencies who was out on a ride to find some peace. I think the message is no matter what the situation, mind your own business and simultaneously have a little consideration for others.

this is just horrifying. who beats an elderly man with a club? sociopaths who need to be locked up, that's who.

I don't want to start a helmet debate or anything. and I'm sure this guy would've found another way to harm this poor man if he'd been wearing one. but it definitely would've helped him in this case. poor guy. hope he's not harmed too badly.

He didn't need a helmet, he needed a .357.
