No, standard, compact, mid compact, all one SR crank. Just a matter of ring selection.

I think Bob's point is that the other ring options are mentioned for the other cranks (Record, Chorus), whereas the Super Record doesn't. So is Campy only selling SR cranks with the standard rings? Would suck to have to buy the compact rings separate.

I think the one I saw was compact but I'll check.

CRs are the same for all 3 cranks, I'd be surprised if they didn't offer the smaller one with SR.

Put my mitts on 2015 chorus yesterday - it looks like carbon 9000

The RD is all business. Chunk of carbon!

The crank and rings and FD are very shimano-esque but as OP notes, the incarnation is very Italian.

The new hood covers felt really nice but I didn't care for the white campagnolo branding on the outside.

Yup. Equally not my cuppa tea.

I'm scouring the universe for NOS silver alloy parts by both manufacturers. As to 11, 12 or however many more speeds with carbon bits are yet to come--whatever. Don't care.

Now get off my lawn!

Campy style
I've been riding Campy components since 1960, except for a Dura Ace deviation in the late 1980's/early 1990's when Campy lost its' way. Back in the day, they were the only thing you could get that wasn't plastic, and I guess they hooked me. I didn't like their first carbon cranks, but other than that I love the looks of their components, including 2015. Sometimes I wish I were Italian!

I've advanced nowhere on the aesthetics of 2015 Campagnolo cranks.

Campagnolo is all there is for me as far as cycling components so it looks likely I will sit out the first generation of the Valentino-X crankset. Heck, won't be the first time taking a pass on the cranksets for me either - skipped over the entire series of square-taper carbon cranks.

I bought one set of SR 2014 cranks just to have should I want to build up a new bike while the current grouppos still have the Valentino-X cranks. So I am covered for my crankset intransigence. NBD. Campy will redesign the crank again in the future and this too shall pass.

If Campy made a top of line Super Record all alloy group I'd buy it tomorrow.

But alas, everything's al carbone.

I guess this means you don't want to purchase my shimano wheelset?

actually, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to resist the gravitational pull of campy calling me back as I decide how to re-build my Peg duende.

9000 is all alloy except for brake lever blades so.....
