2015 SuperRecord

Saw the group yesterday. New for 2015 bits nothing less than spectacular, ders and crank. Looked at back of levers and altho the spool looked different, all else looked like 2009-2014 UltraShift levers. Jim is going to upgrade a Moots to 2015 Chorus but also check the 2014 levers with 2015 ders and vice versa. Will report back. Although known for 'tradition' and such, this stuff just oozes tech, sophistication and race function, IMHO. 9000 is nice stuff but seems plasticy
by comparison, as does 6800 when compared to Chorus. I know comparison to to bike stuff always elicits scorn but Campagnolo SR/Record/Chorus seems very Italiano, shimano9000/6800 seems very Japanese. Yes yes I know.

IMHO of course.

Would a change to the spool change the pull ratio at all? Curious if that's how they're causing the supposed incompatibility with the earlier stuff.

Changing diameter does change cable pull per shift but...report to follow

I think their point is for absolute best performance, match it but I'm thinking it's more cross compatible but...

Report to follow...

I'd heard all year that Campy was going to 12-Speed. Apparently that was just a bad rumor. -Jeff N.

If that's what it takes to create a 12-27, with straight block to 19, I'm all for it.

Saw the 2015 grupo in Rome last week at Lazaretti's bike shop. Also saw 11-29 chorus cassettes! (Almost bought one too!)

Cranks look beefy and pure business. The folks at the store hadn't tried them out yet so no reports to give. .

Considering I just bought a record grupo this year... It's gonna be awhile before I upgrade.

Any chance you could let us know where you found a Chorus group at? I've been looking for awhile and all I've found is a crankset here and there.

Thanks,

Rob

Am I reading this correctly? No Compact or Semi-Compact SR crankset for 2015?!?!

I currently don't have anything Campy, but ATMO, it is sexier than Shimano and I still think the 9000 group looks pretty darn nice too.

Nor have I seen a Chorus EPS upgrade group. Record/Super Record, yes.

Fugly.

I'll be skipping yet another generation of Campy.

Have been wanting to buy in for years, but alas, no.

Seems to the case from their listing, though with their universal crank design now similar to Shimano's, I'm sure you can just swap rings.

Agreed. 7900 was a mess but 9000 looks pretty nice. I still think campy is better looking at every level however.

So I guess you'll be skipping current gen shimano too.
