almost time to go skiing

I haven't been in the longest time, but this little movie has me salivating to go again.

Stolen from across the hall, if this doesn't get you going, your dead inside:

Hits me in the feels on so many levels.

Yup, gettin' there.
There's already been two deaths in Montana from an avalanche slide.

Need to decided and send my deposit got France in March. No snow yet in PA and I’ve already paid for a locker and getting ready to buy a season pass at the local hill.

It’d better snow!

sorry to wander OT :What's really sad is that Hayden wasn't killed in the avalanche but he committed suicide the next day he was so distraught over losing his girlfriend in the avalanche.

It makes it doubly sad that he was distraught but was unable to ask for help. My condolences to everyone involved.

That being said I'm looking forward to the snow falling in the mountains. I hope for a big year again.

It's a very dangerous time of year to ski here. Everyone here was gutted but these deaths.

Very sad. Reflecting on these words from Hayden:

Quote:
“Over the last few years,” Kennedy wrote, “as I’ve watched too many friends go to the mountains only to never return, I’ve realized something painful. It’s not just the memorable summits and crux moves that are fleeting. Friends and climbing partners are fleeting, too. This is the painful reality of our sport, and I’m unsure what to make of it. Climbing is either a beautiful gift or a curse.”

And yes, it's almost ski season. The goods are on their way in WA state (photo from Saturday):

Hints of winter here in the PNW minus the tornado warning this afternoon - that was odd.

Snow tires are sitting on the rack, skis are hanging, and I am anxiously waiting to put them to use!

Thanks for sharing the Douglas/salomon movie. I often feel the
same way hoping I won't loose some skill move at the start of each season.
Good movie, but I still feel cycling is the fountain of youth. My skiing reaps the benefit of a good cyclocross season prior to hitting the slopes.
