ROL Race SL wheels - any opinions?

One of my riding buddies is looking at a Parlee Z5 and the LBS is suggesting he get ROL Race SL wheels. I'd never heard of them and I don't ride 20/24 spoke wheelsets.

Does anybody here have any experience with ROL wheels? Thanks!

I had a set of the Volants which is their entry level/ training wheel and they were nice, rims were just kinlin rims and the hubs were overseas made something or other, but they were good and held up well. I would still probably be using them if I hadn't switched to campy on my good bike.

I have a set of those that are a few years old. They came to me second hand, and even through 2 owners they've been really solid. No issues, and the customer service is fantastic. I had to call to get a Shimano cassette carrier to replace the Campy, and they took care of me pronto. The only complaint I have is that the rims are pretty narrow (mine measure 19mm). The newer models have (if I read correctly on their website) a 23mm wide rim, so that would be even better.

I have a set of the Volants as well. Nice rims, nice hubs, light enough, good price good value. ROL has very significant connection with Roadbikereview.com. It advertises a lot on the site and there are a gazzillion reviews for ROL wheels there.
