It's hard to argue with a classic RD for this purpose. The right balance of elegance and complexity IMO; while nice, I think I'd get bored looking at a Cinelli quill stem after awhile. DA 7400, Campy NR, SR, or C Record -- all would do the job nicely.

Do you all actually find the need to weigh paper down on your desk in your office? I realize this is a thing, but I have never needed one. I get it if you just want to have a conversation piece on your desk. Genuinely curious; no judgement.

Art
With all the hot air that blows around the cube-city I work in ...
The point is not a paperweight. The point is what parts bring joy to you just by holding, fiddling with, and looking at, from the pure beauty, elegance, and design qualities of the piece. What components would you consider desktop art? Most of us would agree that some parts are just plain fugly - put 'me on a bike and ride 'em, just don't look at 'em. But some are art in its purest form. |

My father had the best approach: He'd stack papers on the corner of his desk and when the pile got top-heavy it would tumble into the waste basket. No paper weight involved.

Campy SGR clipless pedals. Should hold down papers even in a cat 2 hurricane.
Really, I'd vote for derailleur from your favorite group. Dura Ace 7700 for me. Jon |

I have two. Lynskey sent me a head badge for free which I mounted to a block of redwood using brass nails, and I use it as a paperweight, and looks really nice in the office, thanks to Lynskey.
The other one is not really a part of a bike but rather an accessory for one, and that is an SKS Puro pump in deep black, a beautiful pump that had a great concept but blew apart on its first use at 45 psi even though it was rated for 120. I liked how the air chuck head came out of the body by twisting the pump one way and suck it back in by twisting it the other way; and I liked the internal psi gauge built into the plunger tube, what a fantastic idea that was but SKS never capitalized on any of their future pumps, nor did any other company, which amazes me quite frankly. So anyway I was able to glue back the end caps that blew apart but the pumps is useless as a pump but works great as a paperweight and a conversation piece. I've had clients play with the pump, and those that were into cycling that played with it loved it too, because it was very nice looking pump in a neat small package that didn't have to worry about pulling rubber plugs off to get to the chuck, didn't have guess at the PSI (assuming the gauge was right which I never got the opportunity to calibrate it before it broke). Anyway that's the paperweight that most people play with. http://road.cc/sites/default/files/s...?itok=8NfhFRrS Here's what the PSI gauge looks like: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....nS._SX425_.jpg |

And they come in pairs, so you can have one on your desk at work and one on your desk at home...
