Boonen's backkk (for P-R)

http://velonews.competitor.com/2015/...-injury_365005

um... is this just for show so EQS doesn't keep screwing up stybar's chances by sending 'i think i can, i think i can' stijn vandenbergh up the road with him only to screw everything up?

for what it's worth, i hope he does well

It might be premature to say he's back:

Marc Coucke, the leading sponsor of Boonen’s Etixx-Quick-Step team, said the 34-year-old Belgian had a very slim chance of competing in the race on April 12. “Tom Boonen is training hard, there is one percent chance that he will compete in the Paris-Roubaix race,” Coucke said on Twitter.

“Hope springs eternal.”

Sponsors need to get their money's worth. Stories like this are good to get their name out there.

Also, they need to distract from the poor showing so far this year.

It's easy to criticize EQS for not winning enough, but they do have the most wins in the pro peloton this year, and they've been major players in all of their home races.

reminds me of how Cav said, a few years ago, that he can't win races anymore - he can only lose them. and, the same way, how everyone's been treating sagan. expectations can blind you to actual performance in reality.

As much as I like Boonen, it'll be nice to see Stybar off the leash.

Not much of a Boonen fan, but I heartily concur on Stybar.
